To be or not to be

Firecrackers, big or small,
Delight and enthrall
Children, adults, one and all

One in the backyard
Thousands in the park
In wonder, eyes lit up

But bundled together
From China to Kerala
They lose their wonder

Firecrackers - surely never
Meant to be wrapped forever

Et tu?

  4. Well done Nino. I should not expect a fircracker to remain wrapped forever. They simply must be set ablaze!!

  6. Yes indeed. As kids we unwound the bunles so each could be lit separately, multiplying the pleasure.

  20. Dear Ilakya,

Of course - Divali is celebrated here in Malaysia [together with Chinese new Year and Aidil Fitr] and we get to enjoy the nightlights and the performances. And fireworks - but no firecrackers...

    Thanks for dropping by!
