To be truly human

It is our bane, this passion
To be truly human
Hearts pierced, broken
The tenderest of emotions

It is our joy, compassion
To be truly human
A world of earnest mission
Justice, elusive guidance

It is our inheritance
To be truly human
Nurturing our children
To the best of intentions

For this, the angels above
Cry the River of Mercy
Love, above all love
Our moments of Eternity

  2. Beautiful, Ninotaziz. I do believe the majority of parents love their children and try to guide them in the best way THEY know even if they sometime do NOT know the best way.

  14. I liked the progression..the aspects of love and how it seems to be such a wondrous and painful part of being human; however, my guess is that it's a sensation known to many creatures--part of the flow of life inherent in the essential connections that affect us, quick, alive. Gay @beachanny

  15. Ascendancy-minded pseudo-lament - powerful use of words.
This is excellent - one of the best poems I've read this week. Definitely the best one I've read today (I've read fifteen poems thus far.)
