I just sit upon a writing desk, and write. And then, I tell stories. Legends of long ago.
Bittersweet
Ugly is the heart that is breaking
Love turn to hate, love gone
Passion in the aftermath, arising
Bewitching is the forlorn
Poignant is the moment of truth
Bittersweet indeed, this resistance
Gone with the wind, with fading youth
Tears sparkle like diamonds
Anger gives a lilt to her cheeks
Her passionate plea for reason
Oh how lovely she is
In her desperate wild abandon
Slowly, gentle sobs wreck her body
How soft to touch, her perfumed hair
A tonne of strength to let her be
To stand still and see her crying there
At that moment she turns to go
Never has she seemed so beautiful
She, who just moments ago
Seemed intolerable, undesirable, awful
Goodbye, the sweetest of them all

Wowzers, this is a powerful and beautifully written poem of the end of love. Wonderfully written, Nino! Every word and every line, so true.
ReplyDeleteSorry Pepsi's story made you cry - it broke my heart all over again remembering. Poor creatures in this world, so badly treated by some humans. It is the one thing I find most intolerable, out of all that is intolerable, it hurts the most.
Thanks for reading!
Yes, a breaking heart can evoke so much sadness and ugliness, yet it is a growth process as well, like a lovely garden. This is a powerful poem Ninotaziz...i love it! :-)
ReplyDeleteNinotaziz,
ReplyDeleteA very fine example of human hate after the hurt. Then the compassion that flows from a warm and forgiving heart.
Well written for the Thursday Prompt!
Best wishes, Eileen
