I am the owner
of the window pane
Time - I, forever
Snow, haze and rain
Ancient forest majestic
Only to be razed
Failed by druid magic
When Man ceased to be afraid
Cities rose just as strong
Yet war tore them down
Children cried, hunger thronged
Time judged and frowned
Slowly demolition ruled
A world dank and grey
Time looked to the moon
Visions of the forest stayed
From the window pane
The moon and I shared secrets
Whatever Man throws my way
We are the sanctuary of the sacred...

The Magpie Tales - a beautiful place to be
oh this is deliciously magical...standing apart with time observing...very nice...also loved the line about drui magic failing when man ceased to be afraid...great mag!
ReplyDeleteI love the line "From the window pane the moon and I shared secrets." Thought provoking Magpie.
ReplyDeletegorgeous. i love this one, "time judged and frowned" it reminds me of how for some there will be the slow degradation of life and society while spiritually, others will flourish...
ReplyDelete"Time judged and frowned." It does tend to do that, doesn't it? :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the way you compared yourself to the moon. Stunning.
ReplyDeleteWe are the sanctuary of the sacred

ReplyDeleteEspecially like the verse:
Ancient forest majestic
Only to be razed
Failed by druid magic
When Man ceased to be afraid
superbe...comme toujours
ReplyDelete'Ancient forest majestic
ReplyDeleteOnly to be razed
Failed by druid magic
When Man ceased to be afraid' There seems to be something in this poem for 'everyone' and this is mine.
