Red.
Light flickers
A long sigh escapes
The modern city never sleeps
Busy overkill
Blue.
Skies overhead
Lazy clouds swirl
Endless empty thoughts
Drudgery kills
Green.
Waves arrive
Never ceasing its rhythm
The seagulls cry
My fate sealed.

Often feelings come in colors.. myself I long for that sea.. those waves crashing .. so close to my soul
ReplyDeletewe should make sure we have enough of that blue and green in our lives... oh i would love to be at the ocean now...so much comfort in its rhythm....
ReplyDeleteI pine for the blue skies and green waves ~ The red made me think of strong undercurrents like passion suppressed ~ Take care ~
ReplyDeleteGrace
i def would rather be by the ocean, enjoying the rhythm....lazing in the blue sky...sunshine...
ReplyDeleteand yes, true.
I like how you've aligned color and emotion
ReplyDeleteI really like this. Colors and emotions do go hand in hand.
ReplyDeleteInteresting set-up. I like the structure and form of your poem.
ReplyDeleteI think we all sense colors with emotions - anger, despair, serenity, fear, awe, exaltation, despair all denote a certain color if one were to paint them so obviously too in poetry - our word paintings.
ReplyDeleteI like the format you have used here, and the colors representing emotions and the things that engender the emotions.
