  1. smiles...the tears washing away the rain is interesting as you would think it the other way around...also the one word line with insidious at the end..sets this on its head...

    1. I was hoping that one word, and one word only would come out of this poem. That is why insidious is left hanging.

So you are right, Brian, insidious will bring you to that word.

  2. Excellent brevity putting a frame on a temptingly borderless image.

    2. I love brevity, but they are harder to work on. So, it was a good prompt!

  3. hmmm, I am only left curious: why the title, what is insidious? Perhaps this is allusions to another conversation.

Tragedies often give us our most beautiful moments. It is strange.

    1. Dear Fred,

Just finished reading your interview. Loved your journey.

Short verses are very difficult and when you ask us to put more into the shortest of frames, oh my! you made me think about my poetry, which makes it difficult.

I always edit and rewrite my work, and short pieces are always the most difficult. Thank you.

  15. I always feel it difficult to embed strong emotion in just a few lines of words, and this is a very nice haiku with strong emotion built in it. I especially love the two words that opens and closes the haiku. Insidious is a perfect word that reflects the aftereffect of the situation as subtle and harmful while drenched tells me how bad she was soaked in her painful experience. Very well written, Ninot!
