The tree of life

here I will disappear
and you will bear witness
you will wait, my dear

oldest friend, my hound
you and I have travelled time
what adventures we found

waiting at every turn
treasure deeply buried
yet the quest burns

deep inside, we seek
the one truth, but this time
you must guard it

the tree of life, let none
come near it, my friend
I will find the fountain

of youth, for her -

A five stanza story inspired by the magpietales

  1. Ninot Ma'am,
The elusive fountain of youth is there waiting to be discovered. Wonderful take, Ma'am!

    1. Sometimes we do not realize how battered the world is. And someone needs to save it once in a while.

  4. That tree of life does look a trifle dead though, don't you think? I hope he finds the elixir of life to restore it! Hehehe! But a nice little Mag, nevertheless. :)

    1. Carrie my dear,
We will imagine the ending in our minds, and there will be many spin offs to the story. How are you my friend?

  9. Lovely poem, and makes one sad that such a companion as a good dog lives such a relatively short time. Joys shared, but solitary grief suffered when they go
