I am rolling over the plains
of devastation
Hatchlings surrender
to the void that empties
the mind
Oh, when will they learn ?
It's too late, anyway.

"I am rolling over the plains of devastation." That sounds concerning, Ninot. "When will they learn?" indeed. Take good care.
ReplyDeleteWe mimic the yelping dog, Sherry when we roll over and pretend all is fine. Then we complain out loud when it is not. We must make a stand.
Deletethis is rather like a riddle....i like the plains of devastation...and i wonder what we or they are to learn...though i can relate it to many things...
ReplyDeleteThe lesson, for me, is the lost of our heritage, our resources and simply, our world, Brian. How could we let this happen?
Deletehey there...my boys are doing good...growing up quick...my youngest is playing baseball and loving it...the oldest is devouring books like they are water...ha....life is good...i hope for you as well...
DeleteI love how it always seems so hopeless out on the plains of devastation, the pain makes me feel alive, thank you.
ReplyDeleteLiving on the edge we are. Dangerous times indeed.
DeleteNinot Ma'am,
ReplyDeleteYes, why bother us with all the yelpings!. We're doing something useful. The idle minds politically staged often cause all these irritations. Brilliant write!
Hank
Idle minds - yes, what a waste!
DeleteThere is always passion in your words....be it devestation or be it beauty. Love this Ninot! :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, Carrie. Passion is my muse for everything. It's great, but can be tiring. We need to slow down.
DeleteI think there is always hope while people like you pass on the message that something must be done and I say "we know what to do, so what and who is stopping us?"
ReplyDeleteIt is important to know what we want to happen, specifically. Ideals can be voiced forever and have been but we need a map, a plan and clear goals. I know mine, and am not easily distracted but when I hear the lies and misinformation produced to protect the super rich at the expense of nature and humanity as a whole, I am angry and write about it. Those posts get few readers. Haha!
But, what is the Chinese saying? 'A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step.'
And yet, at a stroke of a pen, Stafford, we move mountains.
DeleteI hope it's never too late to learn to escape that void.
