Her breath - a perfume
That made men delirious
In the summer heat
That made men delirious
In the summer heat
Her translucent skin
A pulsing beacon, a promise
Of untold heights
A pulsing beacon, a promise
Of untold heights
Her hair - a snare
That entangled their passion
Deadly in winter.
That entangled their passion
Deadly in winter.
Deadly.

ReplyDeleteThank you !
DeleteDear Brian,
ReplyDeleteI like this particular line too. Tess gave us such an amazingly erotic prompt to work with this week.
Ninot Ma'am,
ReplyDeleteGreat write! Beautiful in its simplicity!
Hank
Dear sir Hank,
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it! Where have you been?
Clever to see her as mixture of Siren and Medusa. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It was a compelling photograph.
DeleteTerrific write!
ReplyDeleteDear Tumblewords,
DeleteI was surprised to see your Medusa, always expecting a Haiku or Sernyu. I am glad you liked this.
I love this Ninot!! A captivating piece of poetry indeed! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, my dear friend!
DeleteI could feel every bit of emotion you put into this ..
ReplyDeleteIt is an image that sets you afire, though quite disturbing. Thank you Helen.
DeleteWhatever I say would not put justice to your poem.. Suffice to say I love it ma'am.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you would love it better this way...
DeleteSes souffle était un parfum
Cela fait des hommes en délire
Sa peau translucide - invitant
Un promis du sensualite
Ses cheveux - un piège
Cela empêtré leur passion
Mortel.
I read She Walks in Beauty by Lord Byron early today and this poem and the likes, made me think about women, in a way.
ReplyDeleteDearest Arian,
DeleteI love She walks in beauty, and I haven't read it in the longest time.
Thank you for the reminder.
Greetingz Nino,Very powerful use of succinct language. Very strong links to the image.

DeleteYour poem has a certain "je ne sais quois" that makes it very special. Excellent work, here. Thank you for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteMerci beaucoup, Linda, pour vos comment. Le photo - c'est magnifique!
ReplyDeleteA woman of all seasons, then... Nice one.
ReplyDeleteKeeps it interesting throughout the year! Thank you Trellissimo!
DeleteThis piece trembles with drama Ninot!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind comments - re the cats, our two original cats are Malaysian, with bent tails. One is from Port Dickson while the other was found as a kitten in the car park at KLCC. Even though they both had difficult starts to life, they are not very welcoming to our recent additions.
Dear Isabel,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comments. Crookshanks has a bent tail too. What would we do without our cats? Cats at KLIA?
Sorry, it was KLCC. I remember, in Canada, stray cats found sanctuary behind the Parliament house in Ottawa.
ReplyDeleteOH! Love the decadent sensuality of your poem.
ReplyDeleteI know that movie "Perfume"...I can see the lovely inspiration here...
ReplyDeleteDear Cynthia,
ReplyDeleteDecadent indeed, overpowering all senses. Thank you.
I loved the movie and when I saw the image , slowly the movie slipped in the poem weaving its way slowly until I could not see where the poem ended and the story telling started.
