The Moonflower

The Owl sits alone and winsome
And the Moonflower blushes at dawn
The lady waits with unabated passion
She grasps the moon tightly like a thorn

The Moonflower blushes at dawn
Gently kissed by the sun afar
She grasps the moon tightly like a thorn
And her tears fall like bewitching stars

Gently kissed by the sun afar
The Moonflower is evolving
As her tears fall like bewitching stars
The sun envelopes her awakening

Like an oyster opening
Revealing a brilliant pearl…

Bakawali Harum Dini Hari

Burung pungguk tunduk terkedu
Bakawali harum di dalam taman
Adik terduduk menahan rindu
Bulan mengambang di tapak tangan

Bakawali harum di dalam taman
Sayang layu di sinar mega
Bulan mengambang di tapak tangan
Bintang gugur di kelopak mata

Sayang layu disinar mega
Sinar naik ke tengahari
Bintang gugur di kelopak mata
Mentari menusuk ke sanubari

Bak mutiara suci…

La fleur de lune Dimanche

Alors à l'aube, que la fleur de lune ouvre
Doucement embrassé par le dim loin
Elle saisit fermement la lune comme douleur
Ses larmes tombent comme brillant étoiles

comme des perles…

My Merdeka

Our flag flies proud
In this corner of my garden
This - my prayer aloud
For our country of abundance

Memories of friendship
A beautiful life
Conscience and stewardship
Responsibilities and rights

Through thick and thin
We swim together
The true hearts win
Malaysia forever

Today, Malaysia celebrates her 53rd Independence Day. However, for me, my country is ancient, witnessed the birth of the oldest rain-forest, and the seas teeming with life millions of years ago. And the beautiful people who make up this Eden of ours have their roots from all over the continent and beyond.

On The Run

"Now where do I hide the cash?"
Coolville - population 534? Too noticeable.
Belpre of 6660?
Belle Prairie - there's a nice ring to it.

The original version, everyone, was way too creepy for me.

"Now where do I dump the body?"
Coolville - population 534? Too noticeable.
Belpre of 6660?
Belle Prairie - nice dumping place.

Behold the last drop

Imagine this beauty to be
The last drop of water on earth
Dried up are all the seas
Pent up are the clouds above

Dunes across the continents
Deserts stretched to the poles
Humans long forgotten
Encased as fossils below

Along came two aliens
Who studied the world's history
"There was once water and gardens...
Then it all dried up mysteriously."

For the aliens could not comprehend
That humans could be so ignorant
As to destroy life's precious element
And thus the life's cycle ends

- self annihilation...

Written for the Thursday Think Tank - over at Poets United

Watching

Magpie #29

Oh! How sweet her laughter
Escaping the window pane
Pitter patter – there her daughter
Playing her Ipad game

Lights and shadows, side by side
Alive and full of electric thoughts
Their emotions like neon signs
Their intent often come to naught

Because humans think all the time
And for all wishes to come true
No space will be left for even a dime
No time to behold even a fine view

For many months only silence
Came from those wide open doors
The wintry breeze invited her in
She saw her babies lonely and forlorn

She softly sang their favourite lullabies
And lulled them to sleep so gently
Their father, she held him close when he cried
And kept his heart safe from breaking

By and by, they got through pain
A smile accompanied their remembrance
They began to live their life again
While they cherished and kept her garden

In the shadows, she is a whispery existence
From her favorite spot - she waits
Watching over their lives from the garden
Until they all leave this well trodden gate

Until then, she waits...
Until then, she watches...
